Lower Highs, Higher Stakes
by Tony Rago

Overnight weakness continues to print lower highs on the higher time frames — that’s a subtle but important shift in structure. When price keeps failing at lower levels, it tells you sellers are defending early and often. Bulls need to regain traction and push back above the weekly opens to stabilize this tape. Those opens matter because they act as short-term control lines — above them, buyers regain leverage; below them, sellers stay in command. If bulls can’t muster a bid early, they remain vulnerable to another leg down. Bears, for now, have the cleaner playbook: sell rallies and press pressure until the weekly opens and pivots are reclaimed decisively.

With the CBOE Volatility Index sitting at 22, expect movement. A VIX at this level signals expanded ranges and faster rotations — great for opportunity, but only if you stay disciplined. We’re also coming off a day off, which often means the first 30 minutes can be noisy as liquidity builds and positioning settles. No need to force it out of the gate. Let the market show its hand, let levels engage, and then get to work. Patience first, precision second. 💪
