Holiday Tape, Opening Range Rules
by Tony Rago

New week, new opportunities — but context matters. With Christmas week here, volume typically thins out as we move closer to the holiday, which can exaggerate moves and make levels more important than ever. Bulls pushed price higher into the close, setting a constructive tone, but in lighter liquidity environments, follow-through isn’t guaranteed. That puts extra emphasis on how we handle the open and whether buyers are truly willing to press or just marking things up into thin air.

From here, it’s all about the opening ranges. A clean hold and expansion could open the door for a continuation breakout, while failure to build acceptance often leads to rotation back into unfinished business — namely the overnight gap sitting down at 6,893. Gap fills act like magnets in quiet weeks, especially if early momentum stalls. I’ll stay patient, let the first structure form, and then look to engage with confirmation instead of anticipation. Holiday tape rewards discipline more than aggression. 💪
