Big Move — Now We Wait
by Tony Rago
Overnight delivered a sizable move, and when price travels that far outside of regular hours, it tends to distort the usual structure we rely on at the open. That puts more weight on the opening range — the first stretch of price action after the bell — as it helps establish whether we’re seeing continuation or digestion of that move. Ideally, we get some retracement early to provide context and clues. Without it, you’re essentially trading stretched conditions, which can be less forgiving and more reactive.
This is one of those sessions where discipline matters more than opportunity. Big overnight moves can create urgency, but they also increase the odds of getting caught chasing. The goal here is simple: let the market show its hand, then respond. If we get clean structure and defined levels, we engage — if not, we stay patient. When in doubt, stay out isn’t just a saying… it’s a strategy on days like this 💪
