A new year is upon us, which means it’s finally safe to count all those chickens that hatched in 2024. Needless to say, it was a year for the record books.
The S&P 500 finished 23.3% higher in 2024 - not bad - but our trading strategies were able to quadruple that performance using stocks alone, I'd add.
We’re obviously in the market to make money, but it’s important to keep a healthy sense of detachment from it all. “The market giveth, and the market taketh,” as I like to say. When it comes to education, however, that can’t be taken away from you.
And so, as we begin 2025, I wanted to share an amazing story from someone who’s been on for the ride since my early days here at TheoTrade…
Earn While You Learn
Those that have been trading markets long enough know that it serves to make a fool out of the greatest number of participants. Let’s be real - if this business were easy, everybody would be able to do it.
This is why we spend so much time analyzing trends, money flows, patterns, and more. Yes, making money is fun, but a lot of work goes into it. I’m not trying to sugarcoat it for you.
It’s why when I received this email from Ken, I was greatly moved. Check it out below.
Ken’s been trading with me for a while now. And given the way he was able to dissect this trade, I know that he’s taken the time to learn the method that’s allowed us to outperform the S&P 500 by over 400% over the past five years.
And to be completely transparent with you - this is where I want all of those that trade with me to reach: Analyzing a stock, finding the setup, and then breaking the trade down in terms of risk vs. reward the way that was done here - I find it to be a true work of art.
So, I told Ken this was an amazing bit of analysis, and that I’m totally on board with this trade. I think that we can go along for the ride, so here’s the trade restated:
Buy QFIN on a close above $39.79 with a stop loss on a close below $35.97. Target $67 to reduce. The risk-reward here is 1:8.
